    The Warrior Awareness Initiative (WAI) is a campaign run by Veteran Pathways Home 501(c)3 Foundation [EIN 27-3721969]. www.veteranpathwayshome.org

    The Warrior Awareness Initiative is designed to bring attention to the Behavioral & Physical Health challenges faced by Active Service Members, Veterans, & Their Families (SMVF) and provide them with a life changing SOLUTION of Peer Support Services and Workforce Development skills. 100% of proceeds & donations fund our service facility the Warrior Way Wellness Center (WWWC) . Walk It, Run It, Bike It, Hike It...Just log it and see yourself move on our historic course. With the 109 exercises that can be converted to mileage, you will be shocked at how quickly you will complete the marathon. Share your bib on social media!

    A note from Vice President,Co-Founder & U.S. Army Veteran, Michael W Newcomb. His father, a WWII Combat Veteran, shipped out to Europe from Norfolk, and returned to reside in the area where Michael was born and raised. Mike always felt secure surrounded by every branch of US Military might! "Yorktown was a typical tourist village, complete with souvenir shops and a personal favorite, Nick's Seafood restaurant. My father and I used to frequent the slot-car race track arcade and explore historical landmarks.

    I recall the times spent with my Boy Scout Troop, camping at the edge of the Yorktown Battlefield, learning of this powerful time in our history, and imagining the raging battle as soldiers trampled over the hills and thumb-sized cacti that bristled over them. Most of all I was awestruck by the impressive Liberty Monument and the names of those REAL people who shaped our history adorning it.

    In 2003 Hurricane Isabel leveled the town, affording the state an opportunity to rebuild it into the historic village you see today, just in time for the 400th anniversary of the Settlement of Jamestown.

    The Warrior Way Wellness Center (WWWC) marks the finish line & serves as Veteran Pathways Home's Headquarters. It is situated about a mile from the beautiful Busch Gardens amusement park, where I spent wonderful days with my girlfriend in the early 70's. Most of all, the WWWC is a welcoming place of willing professionals, focused on bringing awareness to and helping Veterans overcome any challenge."

    We've got racers all over the globe! So to keep everyone on the same page, we've come up with some handy guidelines:

    - Remember, your pursuit of physical health helps us serve the SMVF community.
